DayOne Journal History for July 11

I’ve been using the DayOne app for almost 15 years. Looking at the history for a particular day can be interesting. Here’s what popped up for July 11th.

2025: Two photos, a picture of a lake and another of a toad hunting bugs on my back porch.

2023: Four photos of Purple Coneflowers in my backyard with the comment “recovering from the Deer assult.”

2022: I’m going to get the first few years of this printed in a book and give it to the CEO/Founder when I retire in 2026. In the meantime, I’m doing billable work at Name Omitted this week before heading to Whidbey Island to join the family for PTO at an AirBnB on a cliff overlooking PugetSound.

Note: I did retire and never had a thought of sending my insane schedule and journal entries to my old boss.

2020: I pasted this entry in from somebody I know because I couldn’t have a more opposite feeling.

I absolutely hate raw onions and mustard. They are the two grossest things on this Earth. As you may know, I have COVID19 and the strongest symptom is lack of taste. So the kids really wanted to give it a test run...with mustard and onions. Name omitted.

Yeh, I love raw onions and mustard.

2018: I had time to stop at East Pole Coffee on my way to Name Omitted famous company this morning.

Let the good times role.

2017: Looking at Ocean Bay, Washington this morning.

I have no recollection of where this place is. And, I must have made the entry on my laptop. No GPS data.

2016: Summited 5 peaks in the Presidential range with Hannah, David and Liam today. I'm a bit tired.

I do remember this day. I was wasted tired by the end of it, but it was worth the effort. A+ day.

2015: Wimbledon. Serena Williams and a Spanish relative unknown who's name I can't even remember (Garbine Mugaruza) had a match today.

No further details, like who won. I’m too lazy to look it up right now.

2013: Another day of book editing...still working on Chapter 8. It's also cloudy again today. We're nearly to mid-August and this has been a very wet and mild summer so far.

2012: Travel day from hell today.....not working out...I am stuck at LAX trying to get to Miami.

This was a memorable day at the airport. It started in Seattle, then LAX. Massive delays. I slept in a chair at the airport till midnight and had to be in Miami for a client engagement at 9:00 AM EDT. The end of the saga…I arrived around 30-minutes before the engagement start time, called the client, told them they wouldn’t like me until after I had a shower and a change of clothing. The project ended up being a lot of fun, the next two days. Home by Friday night at 9:00PM.

July 11 conclusion: I said can be interesting not is interesting.
